Buddhist shrine in China. On the way, you
will visit the suspending temple in Hunyuan
county, which was built on the cliff and the
whole construction looks like hanging in the
sky. Another attraction is the wooden pagoda
in Ying Xian county 40ks away from Hunyuan.
This 67.3-metter –high and 920-year-old
pagoda is the oldest and tallest of its kind
in China. You will arrive in Wu Tai Mountain

enjoy the beautiful landscape of this famous
Buddhist shrine and visit several colourful
ancient temples and monasteries scattered
along the green mountain slops. Hundreds of
monks and nuns and the quiet little town

This morning you will head
for Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi
Province. Two monasteries on the way are
well worth visiting.One is Fo Guang, the
other is Nan Chan. Both monasteries are
built in Tang Dynasty and considered as the
oldest original buildings well protected in
China. After your arrival in Taiyuan, you
will have a local cuisine featuring noodles. |

Today your guide will escort you to the
ancient city Ping Yao by road. “Ping Yao ”,
a new bright jewel on the crown of China’s
amazing historical relics, was added by
UNESCO to the “ List of World Heritage ” on
December 3,1997. And this qalled city has
become one of China’s “ must-see
”attractions for tourists from all over the
world. |

Besides the sightseeing in the ancient city,
hou will also visit some other excellent
histoical sites within the same region such
as the Ten Thousnad Budda hall of Zhen Guo
Monastery which is typical of the Five
Dynasties Period, (907-960AD) and is
registered as the 3rd oldest and valuable
building in China. The Shuang Lin Monastery,
under the special state care and protection,
and well known for its over 2000 coloured
clay statues sculptured in Song, Yuan, Ming
& Qing Dynasties. |

Today’s first visit is to Jin Temple, the
most famous historical relics in Taiyuan.
The more than 900 years old Goddess Hall,
the coloured clay statues of Song Dynasty
and the murals inside are priceless state
treasures. Behind in Temple up to the hill
there locates the Tian Long Shan grottoes
which dates back to 1400 years and is also
worth visiting. |

The night, you can go back to Beijing by
over night train or to some other
destinations by flight the next morning. |
