Arrive in Taiyuan at 0830 am by an over
night train from Beijing. You will be met at
the railway station and transferred to your
hotel. After checking in and having your
breakfast, the guide will escort you to the
ancient city Ping Yao by road.” Ping Yao ”,
a new bright jewel on the crown of China’s
amazing historical relics, was added by
UNESCO to the “ List of World Heritage ” on
December 3.1997. And this walled city has
become one of China’s “ must-see ”
attraction for tourists from all over the
world. |

Before or after the sightseeing in the city,
you will also visit some other excellent
historical sites within the same region such
as the Ten Thousand Budda Hall of Zhen Guo
Monastery which is typical of the Five
Dynasties Period,(907-960AD) and is
registered as the third oldest and valuable
building in China. Nearby is the Shuang Lin
Monastery, under the special state care and
protection, and is well known for its over
2000 coloured clay statues sculptued in
Song,Yuan, ming & Qing Dynasties. |

Today’s first visit is Jin Temple, another
tourist attraction in Taiyuan.Jin Temple is
the most famous historical relics in Taiyuan.
The more then 900 years old Goddess Hall,
the same old coloured clay statues and
the murals inside are priceless state
treasures. Up to the hill behind Jin Temple
there locates the Tian Long Shan grottoes
which is as old as 1400 years and is also
the attraction that you must see. |

After your local dinner featured of noodles,
you can go back to Beijing by over night
train or to some other destination by flight
the next moring |
