Today you may well feel
like one of the local Chinese Polograms who
visit from afar to climb the many steps to
the top of Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s Mausoleum. This
will be followed by a visit to the
picturesque nearby Xuanwu Lake. Lunch will
be in the very heart of Nanjing’s shopping
district where you can join in with the
milling throngs to search for some special
bargains. Later in the afternoon take a ride
over the enormous double – decker Yantze
River bridge opened in 1968 and bearing
testimony to the Chinese ability to complete
large – scale engineering projects without

Board your morning soft –
class train for the short journey to Wuxi
where you will be met and transferred to
your hotel. In the afternoon visit the

A wonderful treat is in
store for you today as you take a cruise
along the Great Canal, China’s own ‘Venice
of the East’. On arrival in Suzhou you are

Suzhou is famous for its
silk. You will have a chance to visit a
local factory with its silkworms and
mulberry leaves as well as visit the
numerous ornate gardens featuring some of
the great displays of Bonsai. Later in the
afternoon board your soft class train to

Today you will visit the
Jade Buddha Temple, see the precommunist
colonial architecture beautifully preserved
along the Bund and visit the Children’s
Palace where budding young musicians and
dancers are professionally trained after
their normal school day (this tour available

A morning visit has been
arranged to the newly completed Shanghai
Museum which has the perfect combination of
ancient works of art, sculpture and ceramics
on display with the very latest technology
in air – conditioning, lighting and easy –
to – read bi – lingual presentation. After
lunch you will be taken on an interesting
cruise ‘between the two bridges’ the Yangpu
and the Nanpu the world’s longest and 4th
longest cable – stayed suspension bridges
and embracing the Pudong Economic

placid lake waters, picturesque islands,
pagodas, teahouses and humpback bridges are
delightfully set against a backdrop of
