D2 Today you will visit the Jade Buddha Temple, see the precommunist colonial architecture beautifully preserved along the Bund and visit the Children’s Palace where budding young musicians and dancers are professionally trained after their normal school day (this tour available only on weekdays in which case replacement sightseeing will be provided)(BL) Shanghai
D3 A morning visit has been arranged to the newly completed Shanghai Museum which has the perfect combination of ancient works of art, sculpture and ceramics on display with the very latest air-conditioning, lighting and easy-to-read bi-lingual presentation. After lunch you will be taken on an interesting cruise ‘between the two bridges’ the Yangpu and the Nanpu, the world’s longest and 4th longest cable-stayed suspension bridges and embracing the Pudong Economic Development Zone.(BL) Shanghai
D4 Morning is art leisure to do some further independent sightseeing or perhaps take a taxi ride for some shopping on Nanjing Road. You are transferred to the airport for your flight to Guilin. On arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel.(B) Guilin
D5 The stunning beauty of Guilin’s shark-tooth Karst hill formations and the enchanting magic of the twisting Li River is unique to the world. On your unforgettable five-hour cruise you will pass ancient villages, bamboo groves and cormorant fishermen. D6 Morning visit to the Reed Flute Caves then board your afternoon flight to Xi'an where you are met and transferred to your hotel.(BL) Xi'an
D7 Today you will visit two of the world’s greatest archeological treasures – the 6000 Terracotta Warriors guarding Emperor Qin’s Tomb and the mystifying 8000 year-old Banpo Neolithic Village. Also stop at the Hua Qing Hot Springs where Chiang Kai Shed was captured.(BL) Xi'an
D8 Visit the Shaanxi Museum, Wild Goose Pagoda, and Bell Drum Tower before boarding your afternoon flight to Beijing where you are met and transferred to your hotel.(BL) Beijing
D9 Visit the world’s largest public square capable of holding more than a million people – Tiananmen Square. Leading off the square is the world’s most symmetrical form of architecture – the 9999 room Forbidden City. To cap off the day visit the majestic Temple of Heaven where farmers prayed for favourable weather and bountiful harvests.(BL) Beijing
D10 Take a stroll along the ornate verandas of the Summer Palace situated around the placid cool waters of Kunming Lake. The Summer Palace was the favoured resort of the Empress Dowager during the warm Beijing summer months. Next stop is the Beijing Zoo where you can catch up with a collection of Giant Pandas who will no doubt be either sleeping or munching on bamboo shoots. The days sightseeing ends with a visit to the Lama Temple still regarded as one of the finest Buddhist Temples in China.(BL) Beijing
D11 What a great treat is in store for you today as you realize every traveller’s ambition – to walk upon the Great Wall of China. Don’t forget t wear your sneakers so you can grip the steeply inclined steps along the Wall. A chairlift is available at addition cost. After this memorable occasion enjoy a light Chinese lunch at a nearby restaurant before visiting one of the only three Ming Tombs opened – the Tombs of Emperor Ding Ling.(BL) Beijing
