         The jinci temple ,located at the foot of the xuanwong mountain 25kilometres southwest of the city taiyuan ,is a garden –like scenic area with ancient buildings waters and old trees. There are over ancient structhures,including halls ,towers pavilions and terraces 300stone tablets and more than 20ancient trees each more than 1000 years old (The oldest one is 3000 years old ). The Nanlao spring ,song dynasty maidservant statues and the cypress of the zhou dynasty (1100-771B.c.)are known to be the three wooders of the jinci temple .The hall of mother sage is the masterwork song halls.The flying bridge over the fish pond in front of it is the earliest fly-over bridge still in existence in china.The Epigraph and introduction to the jinci temple carved on a stone tablets is in  the hand of li shimin ,an emperor of the Tang dynasty(618-970A.D.)AS the calligraphy is the earliest one in the running hand ,it is highly valuable for the study of Chinese calligraphy.
